For our first day in France, we had decided to drive to Le Touquet to spend the day and night to acclimatise. One of our aims was to try out the French Aires that we had read so much about. We also needed to purchase a few essentials for the beginning of our trip, which ended up including a bottle of Chateau Hautes Terres (well it would be rude not to).
Le Touquet is a seaside resort with a long sandy beach, a charming town center, and a golf course. It’s also known as Paris-Plage, because it’s where the Parisians go to escape the city and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.

Having walked into town we can understand why the Parisians come here (Cheers).
Le Touquet is a great destination for families, couples, and anyone who loves nature and culture. You can go hiking, biking, horse riding, or sailing along the coast. We chose to stay in an Aire at the Centre Nautique De La Baie De Canche at the estuary of the river Canche. But you can also visit the museum, the casino, or the market. And of course, you can’t miss the French cuisine and wine.
Sounds heavenly … and glad to hear you didn’t pass in the wine .. or beer!!!
We could not have missed an opportunity, the Bar had only been open for three days.
So excited for you, sounds great. You write like a pro Kev.
Thank you, I can recommend it, bring your van over…
