The Journey to Cushion Comfort
Our story begins with a heap of foam and a giant roll of material. Armed with a sewing machine, a rainbow of threads, and an optimistic spirit, we embarked on a quest to transform these foam shapes into the epitome of stylish comfort.
First, there was the fabric choice. We sifted through a mountain of patterns online, do we want polka dots, stripes, or perhaps an abstract cat print? After much deliberation, we settled on a timeless design that’s chic.
Armed with a full cutting plan generated from a fantastic website where we just had to enter the dimensions of the foam. We placed our order for the material, and waited.
Then the day arrived. With fabric spread out and carefully cut to shape, the real fun begins. Carefully aligning the fabric pieces we finally sit down to sew. But, that was the easy bit, the real fun begun when trying to assemble the seat cushion. It’s then when we realise we are in a battle of wills with the fabric and foam. It puckers, stretches, and generally misbehaves like a toddler in the middle of a sweet shop. With patience and a few choice words, it is coaxed it into something resembling a seat cover. Victory is within sight!
That is until disaster strikes, when the base of the cover rips.
After what feels like an eternity of stitching, snipping, and wrestling with the foam, now comes the time step back to admire the handiwork. The foam seating covers are complete!
