When we first got our van decal, we thought it would be the perfect aesthetic touch. A sleek design—what could possibly go wrong? Turns out, everything. What we envisioned as a stylish upgrade turned out to be… well an abstract art piece made by someone who was deeply confused.
The Denial Phase
At first, we tried to convince ourselves that the decal was fine. “Maybe it just needs time to grow on us,” we said, staring at it with increasing concern. We squinted at different angles, hoping a different perspective would reveal some hidden brilliance. It didn’t.
At one point, we even took a step back, tilted our heads, and tried to convince ourselves that the weird font choice gave it a “retro vibe.” Spoiler: It did not. It looked more like something designed in Microsoft Word in 1998.
Rather than going through the agony of fully removing the decal (and possibly our sanity along with it), we decided that modifying it would be the way forward. “We’ll just tweak it a bit,” we said. “It’ll be fine.” Spoiler: It was not fine.
Acceptance
At this point, we had two choices: (1) declare defeat and remove the decal entirely, or (2) embrace our newly acquired “abstract masterpiece.” We chose the latter. And thus, a new van motto was born: “If you can’t fix it, pretend it was intentional all along.”
As we drive around now, we are ready for a few curious glances, and the occasionally question of, does decal has a deeper meaning. Naturally, we will nod sagely and say, “Oh yes, it symbolises resilience and also our questionable decision-making skills.”
