Saint Jean de Monts

It was time… time for some time-out and pool time (ha, just seeing how many times I can get the word time into a legible sentence).

Our plan was to simply kick back. Each day was around 28 OC (82.4 OF for those still working in imperial) and a pool sounded extremely inviting, especially as we are not accustomed to these dizzying temperatures (well for us Brits that is).

So where are we? Saint Jean de Monts is a seaside town, with a long sandy beach and lively market. It is a popular destination for families, surfers and sailing enthusiasts (both water and of the land variety). Along with a nearby forest and marshland. We did cycle into town and walk down its pier, followed by a cycle ride back through the forest.

In the heat of the day following cycling, we headed straight back to the pool and its lazy river and several slides (and Trish’s first ever water slide. Even though it was a child’s slide). Followed by a cool Leffe or Grimbergen (or two, after all it would be rude not to).
